Boundary Review

The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø (³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø) would like to invite you to attend virtual public consultation meeting(s) to discuss proposed changes to the legacy technical and commercial attendance boundaries still in effect for:

• Central Technical School
• Central Toronto Academy
• Danforth Collegiate and Technical Institute
• Northern Secondary School
• Victoria Park Collegiate Institute
• Western Technical-Commercial School

These large regional boundaries were created at a time when students were streamed into academic or vocational programming and have outlived their intended purpose.  These schools offer rich programs like other secondary schools across the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø.

These boundaries do not span the entire city, and as a result they provide an additional layer of choice for some communities while excluding others.  Staff is proposing that the ability to apply to these schools be expanded to all students by dissolving the legacy boundaries. 

Admission to these schools would be facilitated through an online application process managed centrally, and subject to space availability.  Staff is proposing that the legacy boundaries be dissolved for September 2025.
