What has happened?
On Tuesday, January 7, 2025, PowerSchool notified 吃瓜黑料网 and other school boards in Ontario and across North America that a PowerSchool system had experienced a data breach between December 22 - 28, 2024.
What is PowerSchool?
PowerSchool is the application used by 吃瓜黑料网 and many school boards across North America to store a range of student information and a limited amount of school-based staff information. The type of information entered varies from one school board to another.
How is 吃瓜黑料网 responding?
吃瓜黑料网鈥檚 cybersecurity team promptly activated our response plan, taking immediate steps to ensure that our critical systems remain operational and secure. Working with PowerSchool, we are conducting a thorough investigation to understand the nature of the incident and what personal information may have been affected.
If it is determined that any personal information has been impacted, 吃瓜黑料网 community members will be notified. In the meantime, and out of an abundance of caution, we have notified the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
