The quality of the translation will vary in some of the languages offered by Google. Google Translate is a free service and currently offers translation in over 100 languages, but does not capture all languages or dialects.
The basic translation goal is to capture the general intention of the original English material. Before you act on translated information, we encourage you to confirm any facts that are important to you or may affect any decisions you make.
The ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø is committed to equity and community engagement, and by providing this tool, we are making our information more accessible to families whose first language is not English.
Equity, Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression will help close the persistent achievement and well-being gaps our student data has continually identified as being strongly connected to demographic factors such as family income, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation and disability, among others. Equity will help address patterns of academic streaming by setting high expectations and increasing access to programming and support. Knowing who our students are, their identities, abilities and lived experiences allows us as educators to create the conditions necessary for dynamic, deep learning and create environments that reflect, and are based on, the assets and gifts they bring in ways that honour them. Our goal is to do this in a partnership between students, families, community, elders and staff.
Our team works collaboratively with The Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement. The Centre of Excellence for Black Student Achievement offers a variety of programs, initiatives and engagement opportunities for students, families and community. Program offerings are designed to fulfill the mandates of the Centre of Excellence and are in alignment with the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø’s Multi-Year Strategic Plan Towards Excellence in the Education of Black Students: Transforming Learning, Achievement and Well-being. Programs, initiatives and opportunities are focused on honouring Black students’ experiences and strengths and ensuring their needs are met.
We are dedicated to working with internal and external partners to establish equitable learning spaces where all students thrive. In light of this ongoing commitment, the Equity, Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Department offers a vast array of professional learning opportunities, student programming, and community workshops.
