Combatting Hate & Racism Student Learning Strategy

Classroom Instruction

Student learning occurs in many ways both inside and outside of the classroom andÌýschool. Since the start of the COVID-19Ìýpandemic, students have participated in virtualÌýlearning experiences facilitated by educational partners. Approved presentations willÌýcontribute to important topics from a community perspective and centres the livedÌýexperiences of individuals on issues of identity, discrimination and histories. ResourcesÌýfrom other levels of government, such as the City of Toronto, will be also be usedÌýwhere appropriate. External presentations must be grounded in classroom teaching onÌýthe topics addressed to ensure that students have multiple opportunities to develop aÌýcomplex understanding of the issues and topics raised.

Ìý

Expectation:

External presentations and learning opportunities be integrated proactively intoÌýschool assemblies and classroom learning.
