Math Learning Partners are a dedicated group of educators who have been hired to work with teachers and students in grades three, six, and nine across 123 Math Learning Partner Schools. They collaborate with teachers and students by focusing on enhancing instructional practices, improving math content knowledge, and facilitating professional learning.
Math Learning Partners also facilitate ongoing professional learning sessions and work with classroom teacher participants in target grades between professional learning sessions. Professional learning sessions are also rooted in research-informed practices.
Strong results were recorded across all Math Learning Partner schools between 2022-23 and 2023-24, for:
- Grade 3 classrooms who experienced a four-point increase in students scoring at or above the 70 per cent standard.
- Grade 6 classrooms also experienced a two-point increase in students meeting or exceeding the 70 per cent standard.
This data highlights the early positive impact of this initiative in critical areas. While grade nine remains a focus area, improvements in grades three and six reflect where this is starting to yield results. Strategies will continue to be refined strategies along with expanding the initiative’s reach to support sustained progress in schools.
