Trustee Rachel Chernos Lin was re-elected Chair of the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø during this evening’s annual Organizational Board meeting. Trustee Neethan Shan was re-elected Vice-Chair.

Chair Chernos Lin was first elected in 2018 as the Trustee for Ward 11 (Don Valley West). She has previously served as Chair of the Board since November 2022, Chair of the Program and School Services Committee, a Director with the Ontario Public School Boards Association (OPSBA) and as the appointed Trustee on the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø’s Parent Involvement Advisory Committee. A parent of one current student and two ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø graduates, Chair Chernos Lin is a passionate voice for parents/guardians/caregivers in the boardroom and believes a strong public education system is the foundation of a healthy society. She is looking forward to working with Trustees to ensure students have everything they need to succeed and flourish.

First elected as a Trustee for Ward 21 (Scarborough—Rouge River) in 2016, Neethan Shan returned to the board as Trustee during last year’s municipal election. He has previously acted as a co-chair of the Equity Policy Community Advisory Committee. A strong believer in diverse thinking, Trustee Shan is looking forward to again working collaboratively with his fellow trustees to advance student achievement and well-being.
