To honour National Indigenous History Month, the Urban Indigenous Education Centre (UIEC) is hosting a number of events for students and educators. These events include talks by Tanya Talaga, Dr. Pam Palmater, and Chelsea Vowel. Next week, there are events with Elder Dr. Duke Redbird on June 1, musicians and storytellers Stomp The Floor on June 2, author David A. Roberston also on June 2, and curator Wanda Nanibush on June 3.
The first Two-Spirit and Indigiqueer Pride in the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø will be from June 16 to June 22 and will include events with Kent Monkman; Tasha Spillet & Elder Albert McLeod; Michelle Corneau & Elder Blu Waters; and an artists panel with Thirza Cuthand, Theola Ross, Fallon Simard, and Indigenous Student Trustee, Isaiah Shafqat.
