Dear Students,
We hope this message finds you well. Recently, all ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø students in Grades 6 to 12 were asked to take part in a check-in survey to let us know about your mental health and well-being, relationships, and learning experiences. We heard from about 36,000 of you and want to thank you so much for sharing your voice, especially at a time when we know you are all very busy.
While we’ve only just begun reviewing the survey results, they will help us in making decisions around how we better support you going forward. Today, we wanted to share some of those initial results.
The survey results showed that a large majority of students (and your parents/guardians) reported feeling protected from getting COVID-19 because of the health and safety precautions in place at their school. A large majority of students also reported feeling cared for and supported by teachers. However, the results also show that a large majority of you reported feeling very stressed and are struggling with your mental health.
These initial results show that we are all doing the best we can during the pandemic. During this time, it is so important to remain connected to your friends, family, and teachers and we want you to know that there is help available if you need it. Please visit the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø website for a full list of mental health and well-being resources, community resources and other useful information and links.
To view the detailed survey results, view the staff presentation from the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Planning and Priorities Committee meeting earlier this week.
Thank you.
