Sadly, a senseless act of mass violence has once again unfolded in the United States. This time at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.
At least 17 people have lost their lives and a number of others were injured — the victims of a shooting.
The students, staff and families of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School are in our thoughts now and in the very difficult days that lay ahead.
We know that media coverage of these horrible events — particularly when it happens at a school — can be challenging for some students. Our Professional Support Services staff have assembled the following for parents that may help with discussions with children, who may experience a wide range of reactions and emotions at this time.
In honour of the lives lost during this tragic shooting, we will be lowering all flags to half-staff across the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø for Thursday and Friday.
