Starting school is an exciting time. Our schools provide a rich learning environment for all children to learn and grow.

In the Kindergarten program, your child will develop their skills and abilities through inquiry and intentional play-based learning that includes math, science and literacy. Teachers and early childhood educators plan learning experiences where children are actively engaged in learning and thinking creatively.

Children who will be four by December 31, 2025,听can start Junior Kindergarten in September 2025.

How to Register for Kindergarten

Registration for English Kindergarten programs will听begin听in January. We look forward to welcoming you and your child!听

  • Only parents or legal guardians can register a child.
  • There is a separate process to apply for out-of-area admissions. Please contact听alternative schools听or elementary academies听directly for more information.
  • If your child currently attends听child care at a 吃瓜黑料网 school that is not your designated home school, and you wish to register for Kindergarten at that school, an out-of-area admissions application may not be required. Please review the听 Out of Area Admissions Policy and Procedure听and,听if eligible, proceed with the in-person registration option outlined below.

Early French Immersion

The Early French Immersion program begins in Junior Kindergarten (JK).听Families who wish to have their child participate in an Early French Immersion Program听 must听apply in听 November. To apply, please visit听 www.tdsb.on.ca/pars.听

For September 2025听entry,听the application process closed听on November 29, 2024. Applications听submitted after the deadline will be marked as late and accommodated if space in the program is available.

In February,听only those families who applied in November and have听 accepted an听offer of placement for their child via the听 central application process听can register in Early French Immersion.听听

Online Registration

Step 1

  • Kindergarten registration for听the 2025-26听school year听begins in January 2025.听听
  • If you would like to register a student to begin school immediately, please visit the registration page.听
  • Once you have completed the online portion of the registration process, you will receive a confirmation e-mail, including information about next steps (e.g. how and听when to provide the necessary documents). Please be sure to check your Inbox and Junk Mail folder to avoid missing the e-mail.听
  • You will also receive an e-mail with a link to complete a Developmental History Form for your child online.听听

Step 2

  • Once you have completed the online registration, you will receive further information and instructions from your child鈥檚 school.
  • The following documents are required to complete the registration:
    • Proof of age (birth certificate, Canadian听passport, Canadian Citizenship card or certificate or baptismal record)听
    • Proof of address, including any听two of the following current documents:听Utility bill (e.g. hydro, gas, water), cable TV, internet, or home phone bill, insurance policy (home, tenant, auto or life), mortgage statement, rental or lease agreement or deed, current purchase and sale agreement, property tax bill or notice of tax assessment. Original correspondence from a government agency or legal clinic may be accepted as a second proof of address document.
    • Proof of immunization (the card that shows a list of needles your child has received):
      1.听 Report online .听听
      2. If unable to report online, parents can provide immunization information to the school and the school will mail a copy to听Toronto Public Health.听Toronto Public Health accepts and translates foreign immunization records.听
      3. If requesting an exemption, call听 416-392-1250.
    • Verification of date of arrival, if your child was not born in Canada. Families who are permanent residents and refugee claimants may register directly at the school. Children without immigration status are welcome in our schools and information about them or their families will not be shared with immigration authorities. To register, please visit the International Programs and Admissions Office at 5050 Yonge Street, on the main floor, for a 吃瓜黑料网 school admission letter.
