Community Liaison Groups

The Parent Caregiver Community Engagement Office (PCCEO) is dedicated to supporting parents/caregivers in fostering student success. Through meaningful partnerships, the PCCEO provides School Communities and School Councils with access to community that strengthens parent/caregiver engagement and enhances school-community collaboration. Community Liaison Group (CLG) activities predominantly take place during non-curriculum hours, typically between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m.

A CLG is an organization, collective group, individual speakers, facilitators, etc., that collaborates with the ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø to support parents/caregivers in engaging with schools and strengthening community connections. CLGs bring diverse perspectives, advocate for inclusion and accessibility, and help address structural and procedural barriers that impact parents/caregivers. By working alongside parents/caregivers, CLGs contribute to creating welcoming, equitable learning environments that reflect the needs of all students and parents/caregivers. Most. CLGs are dedicated to advancing accessibility and inclusion, to addressing structural and procedural barriers to reflect diverse needs. Through effective communication and responsive leadership, CLGs contribute valuable insights to ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø’s strategic endeavours.

CLGs offer expertise on topics relevant to parent/caregiver engagement, student well-being, and community-building efforts.

How to become a partner with the Parent/Caregiver and Community Engagement Office (PCCEO)

We're excited that you're interested in becoming a Community Liaison Group (CLG) with the PCCEO.
Please submit an with appropriate supporting documentation to the Central Coordinator, Parent and Community Engagement Office (PCCEO), who will review the request in consultation with the appropriate Executive Officer and the Partnership Office before formalizing the partnership agreement.

³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø Support for CLGs

We offer valuable support to CLGs to help to ensure their success. This support may include:

  • Providing space for meetings and events when possible
  • Collaborating on events and projects
  • Providing letters of support for external funding requests
  • Access to ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø resources and training opportunities
  • Ongoing opportunities to participate in public consultations and provide input on policies, procedures, and Board-level activities
