Next-Steps Employment Centres

Next-Steps Employment Centre is a free employment support and career resource centre. There are four locations in Toronto, one in Vaughan, and two in Mississauga.

Canada-Ontario Job Grant

Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG) provides opportunities for employers, individually or in groups, to invest in their workforce, with help from the government. Employers or company decision-makers can be referred for this Grant. The Next-Steps Employment Centres facilitate the COJG program.

Scarborough Centre for Employment Accessibility (SCEA) is a free employment resource centre that specializes in providing barrier-free access to support, including to Persons with Disabilities.

Newcomer Services in Malvern

Newcomer Services provides one-on-one support and guidance to new immigrants, refugees, and permanent residents. From applying to citizenship to integrating into the new community, Newcomer Services can help newcomers from 13 years old and up.

Enhanced Language Training (ELT)

Enhanced Language Training (ELT) provides in-class instruction and the opportunity to gain work placement to newcomers who have international experience, education, or training in any of these sectors: Accounting; Office Administration and Customer Relations; Engineering; Financial Services; Health and Wellness; Information Technology; and Sales and Marketing.

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC)

Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) is for landed immigrants or convention refugees who are 18 years or older to enrol in free English classes in Toronto. There are twelve classroom locations in Toronto.

Essential Skills Upgrading

The Essential Skills Upgrading program is for individuals who are looking to further their education or increase their employment opportunities and need to upgrade their reading, writing, math and computer skills. This free program is available in 20+ in-person classroom locations in Toronto.

Youth in Trades Training

Youth in Trades supports out-of-school and unemployed youth and young adults between 15 and 30 years old in Toronto seeking full-time employment in Culinary and Construction. We aim to uplift youth who are facing multiple barriers-be it socioeconomic, physical ability, or otherwise.

Studio500 offers pre-apprenticeship and apprenticeship programs for individuals looking to become certified hairstylists.
